Dear Arkansas Science Educators,

       As we embark on another academic year, it is my honor and privilege to address the dedicated science educators who play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of our future scientists, engineers, and innovators. I am honored to serve science educators around the state this year!

       The theme for ASTA this year resonates with the essence of our collective mission – "Scientify Everything." I want this theme to embody our commitment to infuse the spirit of scientific inquiry into every aspect of our teaching and learning experiences, thereby fostering a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and exploration within our classrooms. As we prepare to convene for the 2024 Fall Conference, I am excited to announce that our central focus will be on providing invaluable mentorship and unwavering support to educators across the state, spanning the entire spectrum of K-12 education. Recognizing the importance of mentorship in professional growth, this conference aims to establish a platform where seasoned educators can share their wealth of knowledge, insights, and best practices with their colleagues who are newer to the profession.

      The pursuit of scientific knowledge is a journey that requires not only passion but also guidance and collaboration. Through mentorship, we hope to create a network of support that transcends geographical boundaries, connecting educators from different corners of our great state. My hopes are that ASTA will serve as a source of inspiration, encouragement, and expertise,  where every teacher feels empowered and equipped to nurture the scientific minds of our students.

      Together, let us embrace the theme of "Scientify Everything" not just as a slogan, but as a guiding principle that influences every lesson plan, every experiment, and every interaction with our students. By instilling a sense of wonder and curiosity, we have the power to ignite a lifelong passion for science in the hearts and minds of the next generation. I encourage each and every one of you to actively participate in the conference, to share your experiences, and to engage with your fellow educators. Let us unite in our commitment to excellence in science education and work collaboratively to ensure that every student in Arkansas receives a world-class science education.
